Lionel Messi’s used tears-soaked tissue being sold online for $1 million dollars

Now that’s messy.

It was an emotional time for football fans across the world when Argentine superstar Lionel Messi announced his departure from FC Barcelona after 21 years to join Paris Saint-Germain.

During his final press conference at Nou Camp on Aug. 8, Messi, said to be the greatest footballer of all time, fought back tears as members of the media and Barcelona players gave him a rousing round of applause.

Messi eventually broke down in tears, and his wife, Antonella, handed him a piece of tissue. As he was delivering his final address, he stopped a few times to wipe his tears and nose with it.

After the presser, an unidentified person took the tissue, according to several reports. The person reportedly posted an ad online saying the tissue will be sold at an expensive price.

Messi’s used tissue reportedly appeared on an e-commerce platform, with a price tag of  $1 million dollars (about P50 million).

According to reports, the value given to the tissue was based on the individual’s claim that the piece of tissue contains Messi’s “genetic material” which can be used to clone the 34-year-old football star.

Will die-hard football fans (who can afford, of course) go after this piece of tissue that supposedly bears the GOAT’s DNA?

But for those who do not have $1 million, no worries, as there is a replica of the tissue being sold at Mercado Libre in Argentina for only $400 or P20,000.
