Here are the Top 10 schools preferred by Philippine hirers, according to JobStreet
Aside from their skills and knowledge, another factor that could make an applicant stand out in their job applications is the school they came from—based on its reputation for quality education.
Online job search platform JobStreet by SEEK revealed on Thursday, June 29 the Top 10 schools that gained the highest ranking for hiring as it cited the results of its recent survey. Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) emerged at the top spot, followed by the University of the Philippines (UP) and De La Salle University (DLSU).
Also included in the list are the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), Mapua University, Batangas State University, University of Mindanao, University of Cebu, Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), and STI College.
"PUP again was able to retain its top position as to where most employers source their candidates," it said.
JobStreet by SEEK also gave a breakdown of the standing of the aforementioned schools when it comes to certain industries. It found that the top three schools for employers in information technology are PUP, UP, and Mapua University.
Employers in human resources (HR) management mostly prefer graduates from PUP, UP, and the University of Mindanao.
Hiring managers in the BPO industry mostly hire graduates from PUP, UP, and UST.
In manufacturing, PUP, Batangas State University, and UP graduates usually stand out in the hiring process.
Graduates from the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP), TIP, and Mapua University have the best shot in the construction industry.
Those in wholesale trading, meanwhile, opt to hire candidates from PUP, UP, and the University of the East (UE).
