Anne Curtis, Angelica Panganiban ask amid COVID-19 surge: ‘What are the next steps?’
Celebrities, too, are asking about the government’s plan amid the current surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.
This is after the Philippines logged in a record-high daily tally of 15,130 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, April 2.
In a tweet on Friday, actress Anne Curtis expressed her concern over the rising COVID-19 cases, asking “What are the next steps?” after the country logged in over 15,000 new coronavirus cases in one day. The It’s Showtime host added, “It would be nice to be given more light on what is to happen while waiting for vaccines to arrive.”
Anne’s tweet reads: “This is quite alarming. Specially knowing that not everyone can/has gotten tested. So what is the plan? What are the next steps? I would like to think that everyone understands we have to take the necessary precautions to stay safe. But it would be nice to be given more light on what is to happen while waiting for vaccines to arrive. So with what hope we have left we can work together as a nation.”
Meanwhile, Angelica Panganiban called for free mass testing amid the current surge of COVID-19 cases.
“15k?! To think ang mga nagpapa-check lang ay mga may symptoms at may kaya mag pa swab test.. eh pano ang wala? Hay nakakaloka!” she added.
KKB! Nakakaiyak. Ito ang emotional. #freemasstesting https://t.co/WTnQU7jQqB

Other celebrities have come out to reveal how they have been affected by COVID-19.
In a vlog released on Thursday, April 1, singer Angeline Quinto said she tested positive for COVID-19. She found out when she got herself tested after a person she had close contact with tested positive.
"Ang hirap po, lalo na kasi ang dami kong trabaho. Iniisip ko kung anong mangyayari,” Angeline said.
Meanwhile, actress Jean Garcia's mother Sandra Garcia passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
"Even bargained and promised to give more time and do my best to take care of you, in exchange of the healing and miracle I am asking and hoping for. But, yes, GOD has other plans for us. Exactly on your 7th day at the hospital, I lost an amazing mom whom I love so dearly," Jean said in an Instagram post.
