This Louis Vuitton airplane bag could be more expensive than your car, or an actual plane
How much is it? Only $39,000 or P1.9 million, thank you for asking.
From P1.2 million monogrammed bikes to a P400,000 kite, luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton certainly knows how to capture the attention (and wallets) of avid fans and collectors of the brand.
Recently, the brand’s Menswear Fall/Winter 2021 collection, designed by the fashion house’s artistic director Virgil Abloh, takes off with one of its delightful pieces—an airplane-shaped LV Keepall replete with the brand’s classic monogram.

As the brand is almost synonymous with travel for its classic trunks and luggage collections, this prized collectible fits well with the brand’s narrative as Abloh’s goal to transform everyday objects into wearable art was realized in this piece.
Though there are those, who, for sure would appreciate this Keepall, there were also some who find the price of this bag outrageous, as seen when multimedia fashion company, Saint, tweeted photos and the price of the bag.
A Twitter user pointed out that for the Keepall’s price, one could buy an actual plane for less, showing a photo of a 1968 single-engine Cessna for $32,300 (about P1.5 million).
Others poked fun at the idea of an airplane bag, like @SirElghinn who posted a photo of the Cobra Rattler fighter jet from G.I. Joe and said, “I’ll glue some handles on a Cobra Rattler and I’ll sell it for half as much.”
There were also some who posted photos of other kinds of airplane bags that were sold for way cheaper than the one from the luxury brand.
Louis Vuitton goes beyond travel in its products as it has released in the past dumbbells for almost 2,000 euros (almost P120,000), yoga mat for 1,600 euros (about P95,000), a foosball table that costs 68,000 euros (about P4 million) and a kite for 7,000 euros (about P400,000).
