Nicole Borromeo is an underwater goddess for the 61st Miss International evening gown competition
The Philippines' Nicole Borromeo had her shining moment on stage during the evening gown competition at the 61st Miss International pageant in Japan.
The 22-year-old Cebuana beauty queen wore a light blue crystal embellished dress by Dubai-based fashion designer Furne Amato during the evening gown competition held on Oct. 26 at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.
The dress, named "Majestic Magindara," is an ode to the guardian of the seas and the Visayan counterpart of Sirens.
"Dubai-based designer and Global Pinoy FURNE AMATO weaves a romantic fairytale that embody both the maiden allure, and fierce feminine rage of these denizens of the deep. The silhouette maintains the sleek streamline forms of these aquatic muses, and the details mimic the bioluminescence of aquatic life, mesmerizing and mysterious," Nicole's agency Origin Management wrote on Facebook.
The dress features a mix of mesh net crystals, and Egyptian stones, which "adds texture and dimension to the overall composition, and the translucent fringe finish creates the illusion of fins."
Her hair, styled in mermaid-like curls, cascaded down her shoulders, while her eye makeup was accentuated with dramatic false lashes and glossy pink eyeshadow.
Nicole, crowned Bb. Pilipinas International 2022 on July 31, 2022, concluded her Miss International journey with a fourth runner-up finish, following her predecessor Hannah Arnold's Top 15 placement last year.
