Crikey! Balenciaga and Crocs are back with another collab, this time featuring high heels
The brands’ first collaboration was in 2017, which gave birth to platform clogs that launched a thousand memes.
Balenciaga unveiled another collaboration with footwear brand Crocs via its Spring 2022 collection that debuted over the weekend.
Dubbed the Balenciaga Crocs 2.0, their second collab sees the classic clogs made into pumps and rain boots.
The rubber pumps—which retain the classic Crocs shape—and the lug-soled rain boots come in various colors like green, black and gray.
The prices for both footwear are yet to be released as of this writing.
And the internet weighed in on the designs, of course.
“How would you even style this? I want actual answers!” asked one twitter user about the pumps.

There are others who said the rain boots “aren’t bad,” while one said “I don’t hate the rain boots.”

It was at the Spanish luxury fashion house’s Spring 2018 ready-to-wear show where Crocs emerged as high fashion in the shape of platform clogs—in pink, black, green and yellow—which were jazzed up with Jibbitz charms. The clogs were priced at $850 (about P40,600) and were sold out even before their release.
“It’s a very innovative shoe,” Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia told Vogue UK about the collaboration with Crocs in 2017.
“It’s light, it’s a one-piece foam mold and to me, these kinds of techniques and working with these kinds of materials is very Balenciaga.”
Crocs have been perceived as “ugly” footwear, being all clunky and quirky. But over the past few years, the footwear started becoming chic after its successful collabs with celebrities like Justin Bieber and Post Malone. The brand also has created partnerships with the likes of Barney’s New York and Chinatown Market.
It even made a cameo at the Academy Awards this year, with musician Questlove of The Roots walking the red carpet in his gold Crocs.
In 2017, Christopher Kane, with its eponymous luxury brand, released a bespoke, limited-edition Crocs called Swiftwater Sandals that debuted at London Fashion Week.
With its collaboration, Kane also released marble print styles in earth tones and embellished with mineral stone Jibbitz charms.
