Miss India leads Missosology’s hot picks for the 69th Miss Universe; PH in 6th place
Miss India is Missosology’s hot pick for the 69th Miss Universe; PH in 6th place
The 69th Miss Universe pageant is officially on. And while it’s too early to place bets on who will eventually win the much-coveted crown—with the preliminary pageant still a couple of days away—pageant pundits and experts are already setting their eyes on a few favorites, based on their performance during the event’s arrivals, photoshoots, and other events. The contestant’s background seems to play a part in this year’s favorites as well, given that the pageant is being held in the middle of a pandemic.
Case in point: Beauty pageant website Missosology released its fifth hot picks list on Sunday, May 9. And Missosology chose Adline Castelino of India as the top choice of their fifth hot pick. The site said Adline enchanted everyone in Hollywood, Florida with her "renewed confidence and unassuming beauty.” India is currently facing a health crisis as it continues to experience a massive COVID-19.
Following Adline is Andrea Meza of Mexico, one of the early favorites in the competition. Andrea is showing that she is fierce competition, with her “magnetic personality” that’s evident in the photos and videos released during the pre-pageant activities. “She’s intelligent and full of class and we expect to see nothing but topnotch performance from this beauty,” Missosology wrote.
The fourth-place pick is Natasha Joubert of South Africa. South Africa is slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with in Miss Universe—with Tamaryn Green almost winning the title in 2018 (she placed second to Catriona Gray) and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Zozibini Tunzi snatching the crown in 2017 and 2019. Missosology believes Natasha has what it takes to give South Africa a back-to-back win, a feat that has only happened in the history of Miss Universe once (by Venezuela in 2008 and 2009).
Rabiya Mateo of the Philippines ranked sixth in Missosology’s hot picks—a few notches lower than her placement in the site’s third hot picks list. Nonetheless, Missosology describes Rabiya as a well-trained Asian powerhouse to watch out for,
Here are the top 20 of Missosology’s fifth hot picks:
