BLACKPINK’s Jennie signs deal with Columbia Records for solo comeback
BLACKPINK's Jennie is gearing up for her solo comeback!
The K-pop idol signed a solo artist deal with Columbia Records for her slated return in October, the record label revealed on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The deal was signed in partnership with Jennie’s own entertainment company, ODD ATELIER, which she launched in December 2023.
After BLACKPINK’s last comeback in December 2022, Jennie has been venturing into acting and collaborating with other artists to make music.
In June 2023, Jennie released One of the Girls with her HBO’s The Idol co-stars The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, which received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
Jennie released her special single You & Me four months later and dominated the Billboard Global Excl. US chart with 60 million streams outside America.
Following BLACKPINK members’ split with YG Entertainment for their solo endeavors in December 2023, Jennie also collaborated with singer-rappers ZICO for SPOT! and Matt Champion for Slow Motion earlier this year.
Jennie was first introduced in the entertainment industry as one of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK members, together with Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa.
In 2018, she dropped her first solo single, SOLO. Jennie is set to make a much-awaited solo comeback in October 2024.
