Bea Alonzo, Dominic Roque breakup confirmed by Boy Abunda

Published Feb 06, 2024 6:26 pm

Engaged couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have now broken up.

Boy Abunda put some truth into the rumor that has been hounding the pair for the past few days now during his talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

"Ako’y nalungkot talaga dahil madalas kapag nagkikita kami ni Bea ay nagkakakwentuhan kami tungkol sa buhay, tungkol sa kanila, their marriage plans, etcetera. So, I was shocked," Abunda said.

The issue was first brought to light by talent manager Ogie Diaz in his vlog, where he discussed how multiple sources had told him that Alonzo and Roque were not talking.

"Sabi ng isa kong source wala na sila. Hiwalay na sila, kaya inaabala na lang ni Bea ang kaniyang sarili. So between January 20 and 22, wala na sila siguro," Diaz said.

Abunda backed up Diaz's claim that the couple is no more but did not disclose any reason for their separation.

On whether Roque is still striving to woo Alonzo to save their relationship and wedding, Abunda said, "Sino ba naman ang ayaw maayos ang ganitong klaseng problema. As a matter of fact, from good sources, kagabi o nung isang gabi lamang, nag-usap muli si Bea atsaka si Dominic."

"They're trying to understand each other, but they're going through a rough patch," he continued.

The television host went on to say that only time will tell whether the pair can fix their relationship, but that he is praying that God will grant what is best for them.

"Kung tama ang aking source, si Bea ay isinauli na ang kanyang engagement ring, but are they hoping? Ako ang hula ko is yes, kasi you don't say 'Tomorrow, I'm going to stop loving,'" Abunda said, adding that they have called off the wedding.

He also stressed that it was not right for Alonzo and Roque to be judged because of the breakup.

"Pinapalabas na ang may problema si Bea Alonzo kasi naghiwalay sila ni Gerald Anderson, naghiwalay sila ni Zanjoe Marudo, ay hindi nagtatagal ang kanilang mga karelasyon. To me, napaka-judgmental po noon," Abunda said.

"Punta naman tayo doon kay Dominic. Masakit din pakinggan, walang pera, hindi mayaman, hindi sikat, hindi karapat-dapat kay Bea. Cruel," he added, urging other to be kind as they don't know the full story.

According to his sources, even if the pair does manage to save their relationship, no wedding will happen this year.

Alonzo and Roque first sparked dating speculations in 2019. After a period of being spotted together in similar locations, the GMA-7 star confirmed their romance in August 2021, saying it “just came out naturally.”

The actress announced her engagement on July 19 last year through a series of Instagram pictures showing Roque kneeling on one knee while she was bursting into tears. She shared in a previous interview that she will "definitely" have her wedding with Roque this year.
