Kim Kardashian on parenting struggles: 'There are nights I cry myself to sleep'
Kim Kardashian got real about her struggles when it comes to being a mom, saying that there are times that she even cries herself to sleep.
According to PEOPLE, the reality TV star recently opened up about how different her life has been since she began her journey to motherhood. "Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn't be like a more true statement. When you're in it, especially when they're babies and you're feeding—there's madness going on. It's like full madness," she said in an episode of the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast.
Despite having moments when she has no idea what's going on in the mornings, the 42-year-old personality stressed that it's still "the best chaos."
"It's like I always have to do one of my daughter's hair—and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way—and then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. It's like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it's wild," Kim detailed.
While she said parenting has taught her most about herself, Kim said the struggles that come with it are no joke.
"There are nights I cry myself to sleep. [W]ith all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they're fighting, and there's no one there, it's just me to play good police officer and bad cop," she said.
"There are nights when you don't wash your hair for days as a mom and you have spit up all over you and you're wearing the same pajamas, especially in COVID. It was insane, you know?" she added.
The model emphasized that she is, after all, proud of herself for how far she has come as a parent to her four children.
"It is the most rewarding job in the entire world. It is. There is nothing that can prepare you. I don't care how long you wait. I don't care what you're waiting for. You are never prepared. But, you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day," she said.
Kim finalized her divorce from Kanye West in November last year. The two began dating in 2011 and tied the knot three years later. They welcomed two daughters—nine-year-old North and five-year-old Chicago, and two sons—seven-year-old Saint and four-year-old Psalm.
