‘Miss Universe 2023?’: Liza Soberano transforms into a beauty queen in new video

Liza Soberano showed yet again that she would make for a perfect “Miss Universe” bet as she transformed into a beauty queen in a new video.

In a vlog posted on Saturday, Jan. 14, a day before the Miss Universe 2022 coronation night, Fil-Am beauty YouTuber Patrick Starrr collaborated with the actress for a makeup tutorial that turned the latter into “Miss Universe 2023.”

“I want to channel Miss Universe as Liza Soberano today. I prepped her brows and we’re gonna do a beautiful eye that captures the essence of Liza,” Patrick said at the start of the video.

The makeup artist gave Liza a “beautiful, smokey red carpet eye” and “LA glamour,” which the actress absolutely loved. “I feel so glamorous right now. I’ve never really done big hair like this and the whole pageant look,” she said.

She also wore a black evening gown, crown, and sash to complete her “beauty queen” look.

“What does it feel like to have a crown again?” Patrick asked Liza. To which, the actress joked: “It feels right. No, I’m just kidding! I feel very honored to be in your presence, actually.”

In 2017, Liza portrayed Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s life story on MMK

Beauty queens and pageant experts have previously pointed out how Liza would be fit for Miss Universe, including Pia, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, and even beauty queen trainer and manager Jonas Gaffud.

Liza, however, stressed that she has no interest in joining a beauty pageant. “As much as I am flattered and grateful for all of your support and comments saying that I should give Miss Universe a try, I really don’t think it is for me. I’m an introvert and stages with a huge audience scare me half to death (as ironic as it may sound),” she wrote in her Instagram stories in 2021.
