LOOK: Sandara Park visits old PH school, gets emotional after reuniting with Grade 6 adviser
Sandara Park reminisced about her younger years in the Philippines by visiting her old school for the first time in 20 years.
In the recent episode of her vlog series, “It’s More Fun with Dara Tour,” Sandara visited her old school in Pasay City with co-2NE1 member Minzy, where she shared a glimpse of herself as a young student in the halls and rooms of Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy.
The two then spent time in Dara’s old homeroom with the "Pambansang Krung Krung" sharing what she was like as a student before being surprised by her grade 6 adviser.
“Sandara, remember me?” Sandara’s class adviser said, to which the K-pop idol replied, “Yes, you’re still here!”
The two hugged, with Sandara shedding some tears of joy.
Dara’s teacher described the K-pop idol as “very quiet.”
“She was a very behaved girl, and she wouldn’t recite. She would ask her classmate to recite for her,” her teacher shared. She added, “But we didn’t know that she would become like this, open up and bloom to this very pretty young lady and a confident lady.”
“She has also kept her values, she is a very fine lady,” she continued, quipping, “I don’t know why she hasn’t gotten married yet!”
Her adviser also expressed how proud they were that Sandara learned how to speak Filipino and communicate with everybody, the complete opposite of her reserved self during her younger years.
“I couldn’t imagine that she would be going this far, to sing and dance in front of so many people. When she was here, we cannot make her do it,” her adviser added. “See, people really come out as they grow old. They will spread their wings. And it’s a good thing that she was able to spread her wings really well."
Dara shared that she studied in that school from 1996 to 2004. The Festival singer added that she used to be a “little scared” of her teachers because some were strict, except her grade 6 adviser.
The K-pop idol also recalled the time she wanted to join the choir, which was managed by her adviser.
“When I first expressed my interest, she was like, ‘How? You don’t even talk,’” she recalled, adding that she eventually joined the group and was supported by her teacher when she performed on stage.
Sandara and Minzy have been touring the Philippines in the past weeks; They visited John Prats and Isabel Oli’s resort in Batangas, strolled in a mall in Makati City, and went to Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna where they jammed to her hit song, In or Out and Festival.
