Maiqui Pineda now in clinical remission: 'Best early Christmas gift'
Maiqui Pineda had the "best early Christmas gift" as her doctor said she's in clinical remission.
She took to Instagram to share the good news on Dec. 15.
"Clinical remission means that the signs and symptoms of my autoimmune disease are now barely detectable, even if the disease may not be completely cured," Maiqui wrote. "In short—I"M OKAY!"
"I'm beyond grateful for this gift and for the prayers and support that helped me keep going. Please know that it made a difference so THANK YOU!" she said.
"I have big plans for 2024, but for now, it's time to enjoy the holidays with the people I love."
In her blog, Maiqui detailed how she experienced symptoms in the first half of 2024 including hair loss, skin allergies, swollen and stiff fingers and joints, heart palpitations, fatigue, and blurry vision. They started to disappear as months passed.
She was also taken off a medicine that she really wanted to stop by the end of the year, something she manifested on X in August.
Maiqui and her husband Robi Domingo received the good news in November when they met her doctor in Singapore.
"Robi turned to me and said, 'This is the Christmas miracle you asked for.' My doctor then looked at me and replied, 'No, you're the Christmas miracle.'" she said.
In August 2023, Maiqui revealed that she had dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease.
