Kylie Padilla gets real about being 'stuck in fight or flight' since split with Aljur Abrenica
Kylie Padilla opened up about experiencing an existential crisis and getting "stuck in fight or flight" since her "very public separation" from Aljur Abrenica.
The 30-year-old actress got real about her mental health in a recent Instagram post, noting how different life is beyond social media. “This is me lately fighting another bout of existential crisis,” she captioned her IG carousel showing a glimpse of her life lately.
“I am very open about my journey with my mental health and the fight goes on. Here on social media, you only see my highlight reel. But real life is different,” she said. “Everyone is fighting a silent battle.”
Kylie said she's been questioning her existence and life purpose in the past few months. “I have been asking myself a lot of whys.”
She also looked back on her split with Aljur, confessing that she has since been "stuck in fight or flight" mode.
“I have been stuck in fight or flight since my very public separation from my ex,” the Unravel star said, noting that she and Aljur are now on good terms. “But I think I’m ready to move forward from all of that.”
While they were able to get past their differences and become civil, Kylie admitted: “The whole ordeal was so embarrassing and might I say traumatizing.”
Moving forward, the celebrity mom-of-two shared her plans of taking more risks by “trying new things,” including some personal projects lined up such as a podcast.
“Here I am. Human. Imperfect. And yes, sometimes failing. But I think I'm ready to take risks again,” she said. “I think I'm ready to fail again and again and again.”
“I’m done just being 'Kylie Padilla' whoever that is lol. Come fail with me, and maybe we could somehow create a community.”
“For all the misfits, for all the people out there that sometimes feel like they have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING, this one is for you,” she concluded.
Kylie tied the knot with Aljur in 2018. They got separated in 2021 and have since been co-parenting their two sons, Alas and Axl.
The actress previously opened up about her struggles with single motherhood in an April post. “I miss my kiddos. I’m trying to find so many ways to explain to them why Mama is always away and always tired."
She and their two kids recently had a vacation in Japan.
