Ogie Diaz files counter-affidavit against Bea Alonzo's cyber libel complaint
Ogie Diaz filed a counter-charge on the cyber libel complaint that Bea Alonzo filed against him, which stated that she became a victim of “false, malicious, and damaging information.” His co-host, Mama Loi, also accused the actress of perjury.
In a tweet on X, entertainment reporter MJ Felipe shared a video of the talent manager filing the counter-affidavit at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Tuesday, June 18.
According to a report by GMA News, lawyer Regie Tongol said that Diaz’s camp is “calling out the Complainant by not clearly stating in her sixteen-page Complaint-Affidavit the specific individuals who altered the specific defamatory statements making it appear it was all Mr. Diaz who made them.”
“They even failed to show clear and convincing proof of ‘actual malice’ whether in the form of ‘reckless disregard for the truth’ or ill-motive which is a legal requirement and standard if the Complainant is a public figure,” added Tongol.
Mama Loi, whose real name is Loi Villarama, filed a counter-charge for perjury as the actress "made it appear she made defamatory utterances even though she has not said anything at all."
On May 2, Alonzo filed cyber libel raps against Diaz and showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin. According to her complaint, she became a victim of “false, malicious, and damaging information.”
Her breakup with Dominic Roque has been a hot topic, including in Diaz and Fermin’s shows.
Alonzo and Roque, when they officially announced their breakup, noted that there were people who confirmed their split "without consent" and pointed out that others created "ridiculous" stories about it.
Roque, in another statement, also called out Fermin for her “malicious innuendos" regarding his sexuality. He filed a cyber libel case against her last May 31.
