Janine Gutierrez reacts to Jericho Rosales' dating confirmation

Janine Gutierrez could not contain her kilig after Jericho Rosales confirmed that they're dating.

During an intimate interview with select media for their upcoming teleserye Lavender Fields, entertainment reporter Ganiel Krishnan told Gutierrez about the actor's revelations and him saying, "I really joined the show because I was really into the production team and everyone. And then I realized I was also into her."

Gutierrez then burst into laughter, saying, "Sabi?!" 

Krishnan then further quoted Rosales as saying that Gutierrez is an "amazing person, very fun," and that they're "very fun together."

"That's sweet to hear, and I'm also super excited to be able to work with him," Gutierrez said.

When asked to confirm that they're dating as Rosales had announced, she responded, "I guess so."

"Yeah, it's been fun getting to know him and hanging out with him outside of work," she added. "So, masaya naman."

Krishnan also informed Gutierrez that Rosales mentioned he already met her family, only for her to immediately react with, "Grabe, ano pa ba ang mga kinuwento niya?" as she couldn't contain her laughter. She then confirmed the meetup, noting it was "kind of unplanned" yet "all worked out" in the end.

Gutierrez recalled she and Rosales were going to eat outside, but her family dog was rushed to the vet. Incidentally, the restaurant they were headed to was along the way before the clinic.

"So parang sabi niya, 'Daan ka na. Check mo na 'yun.' Tapos nung una parang, 'Okay lang. Baka ano.' Ganyan. Tapos siya, 'Hindi, check mo na.' So, 'yun," she said. "Nameet niya 'yung dog, 'yung daddy ko, 'yung mga sisters ko."

That day also happened to be the night of her musician brother's song launch. "Nagtuloy-tuloy na. Random lang talaga siya na araw. Pero it was so much fun," she said.

As to her mother Lotlot De Leon's seal of approval to their relationship, Gutierrez said, "Eh 'di masaya. Very good."

Since De Leon is also starring in the series, she shares scenes with Rosales, which Gutierrez proudly took note of. "She only had nice things to say about him," Gutierrez said. "At least okay lahat."

Before their confirmation, Gutierrez and Rosales were spotted together at the National Museum in July.

Rosales' last public relationship was with Kim Jones, whom he began dating in October 2011. They got married in May 2014 and announced their split through their godfather Ricci Ocampo in January 2024.

Gutierrez, meanwhile, was previously in a relationship with Rayver Cruz. They called it quits in 2021.
