Selena Gomez undergoes surgery on broken hand

Selena Gomez revealed she had to undergo surgery after breaking her hand amid the promotion of her new song Single Soon.

The singer recently made the revelation in the comment section of a fan's Instagram post, which includes a screenshot of a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) stating that her newly released single is "predicted to enter the Top 20 of Billboard Hot 100 Charts, but needs stability."

Reacting to the post, Selena commented: "Broke my hand and had surgery. I don’t care about selling anything. I’m just happy to make music with my friends." She didn't get into much detail about her operation.

This isn't the first time that Selena has undergone surgery. In 2017, she revealed she had a kidney transplant due to lupus-related organ damage.

The pop star's recent operation came days after she dropped Single Soon on Aug. 25, marking her first new music this year. Her new track was accompanied by a music video, where she can be seen embracing singlehood and hanging out with her friends.

The Only Murders in the Building star has been linked to singer Zayn Malik, The Chainsmokers' Andrew Taggart, and Jeremy Allen White of The Bear fame this year. She, however, hinted that she's single in a viral TikTok video in June.

Selena was previously in a relationship with The Weeknd in 2017 and Justin Bieber in 2010.
