Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings make first public appearance together after cheating controversy
Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings have made their first public appearance together following their explosive cheating issue, to promote their upcoming drama-action series Incognito.
During a fan conference at a mall in Taguig City, the pair sat next to each other as they greeted the crowd with their co-stars Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Ian Veneracion, Kaila Estrada, and Baron Geisler.
"Hello everyone, good evening po sa lahat ng pumunta dito. Maraming maraming salamat po sa pagdalo ninyo and, of course, sobrang excited na ako na mapanood niyo 'tong show na 'to and sana maappreciate niyo," Jennings said.
Racal also expressed her appreciation towards her fans who attended the event.
"Ang dami niyo, thank you so much for coming tonight. Excited na ba kayo sa Incognito? Kami rin, super. Mag-e-enjoy lang tayo tonight and thank you so much for coming, love you guys!" she gushed.
Later, the two of them were asked what they wanted to achieve this 2025, to which Jennings answered that he simply wants a healthy life. "Gusto ko maayos na kalagayan, healthy lang."
Racal meanwhile shared that she wanted to "be stronger."
The actress then emphasized how "super excited" she is to be a part of Incognito as it would be her first time doing an action-themed project.
"Sobrang happy ko na naging part ako ng Incognito kasi ako, my whole life, hindi ko akalain na magiging part ako ng action series so to be part of this is very surreal. This is a chance for me to showcase my other skills na hindi ko alam na mayroon pala ako," she said.
She continued, "My character here is actually a spy, so she shapeshifts, she changes her appearance, she speaks so many languages so excited akong gawin 'yung mga eksena na 'yun and to infiltrate groups for the sake of our mission."
On the other hand, Jennings opened up on some of the challenges he experienced on the set with regard to practicing the action scenes. Nevertheless, he noted that the experience was fun as the things he learned could also be applied in real life.
Incognito is set to premiere on Jan. 20 on the Kapamilya Channel. It centers on seven individuals who come together to face a common enemy in high-stakes missions while dealing with their personal struggles.
Social media noise broke out in December after Jennings' ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva, shared text exchanges between the two celebrities, which showed that the two had an intimate affair while the actor was still with Villanueva. She also posted photos of the two seemingly getting cozy during their work trips together.
"I've been trying to hold myself together through everything that's been happening. But after hearing all the things being said about me—about my character, my intentions, and even my family, I can’t stay silent any longer,” Jam said in her initial story entry. "There's only so much silence a person can bear when rumors twist the truth. I'm sharing this because I need to set the record straight—not to create more drama, but because I deserve to be heard, just like anyone else."
"When Maris came into the picture, I was genuinely happy for you both. I even chose to be supportive, despite the red flags I couldn't ignore. I respected your craft. I believed in you both. But betrayal like this cuts deep,” she added.
Racal and Jennings have since apologized for what they did in separate statements.
