After Bangkok and Singapore, SB19 also cancels Dubai concert: 'Your continuous patience and understanding are greatly appreciated'
SB19 canceled the Dubai leg of its PAGTATAG! world tour on Nov. 24, days after announcing the cancellation of its shows in Bangkok and Singapore.
The P-pop sensation made the announcement through its company 1Z Entertainment on Nov. 21.
"It is with deep regret to announce the cancellation of the PAGTATAG! World Tour: Dubai,” the statement read. “We deeply apologize to everyone inconvenienced by this cancellation. Your continuous patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.”
Members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, the statement noted, “will continue to work hard and prepare for their future performances with positivity and gratitude knowing that they have your unwavering support and trust.”
The statement didn’t state the reason for the cancellation of the Dubai show.
There was also no explanation regarding the cancellation of the Bangkok show slated for Nov. 19.
The Singapore show, slated for Nov. 14, was canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances and following discussions with involved groups,” and it was “deemed best to prioritize the well-being of our artists,” according to 1Z Entertainment.
Ticket and merchandise will be refunded for the canceled shows.
SB19 said it’s bringing the PAGTATAG! world tour to Asian countries like Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and Dubai.
Ahead of the cancellations, SB19 announced that it's already managing itself through 1Z Entertainment after announcing its departure from talent management company ShowBT. The group leader, Pablo, is also 1Z Entertainment's chief executive officer.
There have also been speculations that SB19 might be rebranding after all five members removed "SB19" from their individual Instagram accounts' handles and bios.
GMA News reported that such speculations intensified during a performance at "Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival" last Nov. 11, as organizers used “MAHALIMA” in a post featuring the quintet.
Formed in 2019, SB19 is known for the hits Go Up, Mapa, and Gento, which became a TikTok craze that also caught the attention of Korean idols.
It's among the acts to grace the Asia Artist Awards 2023 at the Philippines Sports Stadium on Dec. 14.
