Get to know businessman Michael Hearn—Dominique Cojuangco’s husband
Dominique Cojuangco married businessman Michael Hearn in a dreamy wedding held on Saturday, March 4.
The lovely couple exchanged “I do’s” at San Agustin Church in Manila, followed by a reception that took place at the National Museum of Natural History. Actresses Sofia Andres and Ria Atayde as well as celebrity doctor Aivee Teo were among the personalities spotted at the event.
As netizens continue to talk about the pair’s big day, some have been wondering: Who is the man who captured the heart of Dominique, the only daughter of businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco and actress Gretchen Barretto?
A 36-year-old businessman, Michael has been on top of various ventures, from the ones established by his family to brands of his own. He’s the executive director of Hearn & Hearn Consulting, their family business that executes construction projects for private clients and contractors.
Aside from this, he also serves as a managing partner at One Solution Asia, which is likewise part of the construction industry but focuses on construction cost and project management in particular. It has offices in different parts of Asia, including Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
His other business ventures include Clear Ice Company as well as Winery PH.
Alongside Dominique, who is also an entrepreneur, Michael manages “The Collective”—a platform of curated skincare brands offering products like lotion, shampoo, among other beauty must-haves. Michael is in charge of finance and operations of the business, while Dominique handles its merchandising and marketing needs.
Do you love hanging out with friends at Run Rabbit Run? He’s the founder and president of the crowd-favorite cocktail bar in Makati, too, and it was where he and Dominique started “seeing each other in a new light.”
While they crossed paths when they were both studying at British School Manila, their romance only started blooming in 2018 during the launch of the Poblacion spot. “It was only on another night when (Dominique) was at Run Rabbit Run that she came to say goodbye and we ended up meeting each other’s gaze. In that moment, everything cleared and changed, and I saw her,” Michael recalled in an interview with Metro Weddings.
Dominique, however, revealed that their love took some time to blossom even after that moment. “At the beginning, there were a few things that got in the way of us being able to spend time together. I was hospitalized for dengue. When I recovered, I flew out to Europe for a trip I had previously planned with friends,” she recalled.
“Michael and I stayed in touch through text. It was only when I got back that it really took off. We would meet for lunch and dinner every day until Michael had to leave for a trip that he, too, had previously planned. It was on that day, just before his flight that we decided to get together,” she added.
Michael and Dominique announced their engagement in October 2021 and agreed to spend the rest of their lives as partners—in business, love, and life.
