Selena Gomez, who recently had to undergo surgery after breaking her hand, revealed the real reason for her trip to the doctor's office.

On The Ellen K Morning Show, Gomez admitted that it was a pretty simple accident—she broke her hand after tripping over a long dress.”

"So I wish I had like a really cool story that I saved someone's life or something. But I was in a long dress — it was a summer dress — and I was walking from my car to my house and I tripped,” Gomez said during the interview.

The show host Ellen K pointed out that the situation could have taken a more unfortunate turn, like the possibility of Selena damaging her teeth during the incident.

The hitmaker agreed, saying, "I guess there is a silver lining, but this is not fun.”

The pop culture icon also shared snaps featuring her latest much needed accessory—an arm cast—in her recent Instagram stories.

Gomez debuted the brace in an Instagram story last Thursday as she took a mirror selfie in front of a large makeup vanity wearing a sleeveless shirt and a pair of teeny black boxer briefs.

Meanwhile, in other social media stories shared on Friday, the star posed for a mirror selfie with an arm cast for her broken hand. Gomez stood in front of a mirror with the black brace complimenting her black outfit. The beauty mogul also shared a selfie with the arm cast as she featured the new Rare Beauty Brow Gel.

After dropping her latest track Single Soon, Gomez shared details about her injury with fans through the Instagram comment section.

"Broke my hand and had surgery. I don’t care about selling anything. I'm just happy to make music with my friends,” the singer said responding to a fan who said she only released music for commercial purposes.

Single Soon released last August 25, is the first single dropped by the star in nearly a year.
