Mission complete: Park Hyung-sik gives his all to Filipino fans at 'SIKcret Time in Manila'
Many Korean idols and actors may have come to the Philippines and gone, but Park Hyung-sik was one who truly made every moment of his second fan meeting in Manila more than memorable for his fans.
The idol-turned-actor’s return to the country has been a long time coming—four years to be exact—and last Saturday, Feb. 17, saw new and long-time Filo Sikrets get up close and personal with Hyung-sik. The 2024 Asia Tour Fan Meeting: SIKcret Time in Manila was a solid two-hour program hosted by Janeena Chan at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, presented by Smart and organized in the Philippines by MQLIVE in partnership with P&STUDIO and TONZ Entertainment.
Choosing a secret agent theme for his fan meeting, Hyung-sik, or “Agent H,” effortlessly flaunted his perfect visuals and many charms as he accomplished his missions—he sang, danced, and, most importantly, interacted with the adoring crowd, including playing games, granting lucky fans photo ops with him, and doing a Hi Bye session for everyone in attendance.
It was a successful operation, literally and figuratively, as fans went home with more “secrets” about the 32-year-old K-superstar. Read on as we spill the important deets we learned about Park Hyung-sik at the event!
He can still switch effortlessly from idol to actor.
A former member of the boy group ZE:A, Hyung-sik trained as an idol for three years before debuting in 2010. In one of the show’s missions, he was required to showcase his acting and singing prowess by keeping a poker face while his voice may or may not be distorted as he belts out the chosen songs. One of the tracks he sang was ZE:A’s Breathe, and he couldn’t help but bust out a few of the moves he used to perform during his days as an idol. The muscle memory was definitely memory-ing!
Of course, his fan meet wouldn’t be complete without him serenading the audience with his beautiful voice—and he did just that by performing a mix of Korean and English songs for his lovely Sikrets.
He’s a fast learner.
The night was extra special for Filipino fans as Janeena walked Hyung-sik through local everyday language, which the actor easily picked up on. In an Instagram reel on her personal page, Janeena revealed that “the brief from the Korean team was to make it as Filipino and chill as possible,” so everyone can now remember how Hyung-sik repeatedly assured the audience with a sweet “Mahal kita,” a flirty “Type kita,” and a determined “Kering-keri!” among many other everyday Pinoy colloquialisms.
He also played a little sipa onstage, which he obviously aced, thanks to a similar game they have in Korea called jegichagi.
He has his good and bad days, too.
Talking about his current drama on Netflix, Doctor Slump, Hyung-sik shares that the script called out to him because the conversations of burning out and being in a slump are currently prevalent in South Korea. That said, he wanted to be in a healing drama that could help comfort his fans who may be going through challenging phases in their lives.
Asked what he does when he feels down, “Isn’t it also a problem if you’re always happy?” he wondered out loud. “Of course, I also feel moments of sadness, so I spend time with friends, practice golfing, or go scuba diving because those activities allow me to concentrate and focus on something else.”
Although he shyly admits that he’s not that good at golfing yet, he does love scuba diving and vows to go back to the Philippines to check out the local scuba diving scene the country is known for.
He’s an awesome friend.
Any self-respecting Sikret would know that some of his friends on the Wooga Squad (composed of Park Seo-jun, Choi Woo-shik, Peakboy, and BTS’ V) were also recently here in Manila for their own fan meets—and we all know how they can’t resist giving each other a shout out during their respective shows.
Revealing that he doesn’t listen to a lot of music nowadays due to his busy schedule, he jests that he’s “forced” to listen to V’s music and encourages everyone to listen to his chingu’s songs, too.
He also talked about working opposite Park Shin-hye in Doctor Slump again, whom he starred with in the 2013 K-Drama The Heirs. “We actually never got to meet [while working on that], but we’re having so much fun working with each other now so it’s great,” he says through the show’s translator.
He absolutely loves his Filipino Sikrets!
The entire fan meeting was filled with laughter as Hyung-sik successfully fulfilled each mission onstage, all the while praising the audience for being so passionate. He was so flattered at how loved he felt that night, that he complimented Filipino Sikrets for being “the most beautiful fans,” and said that “the happiest moment of [his] life is now.” He also credited the success of his missions to his fans, saying he couldn’t have done all of the challenges without their help.

Upon watching a surprise video prepared just for him at the end of the show, he recognized how most of his Filipino fans loved Strong Girl Do Bong-soon and his character, Ahn Min-hyuk, and sincerely thanked everyone for loving “Min-Min.” Of course, fans can’t forget his other memorable characters in Hwarang: The Poet Warrior, Happiness, Soundtrack #1, and Our Blooming Youth as they gave him love and encouragement through their video messages.
Most importantly, a portion of the ticket sales from SIKcret Time in Manila was also pledged to go to Save the Children Philippines under Hyung-sik’s name. In gratitude, the beneficiaries of his donation thanked him and performed a song for him in a video played at the start of the show. They even gave him a fulfillment bracelet similar to his in Hwarang.
The same weekend, Publicity Asia—the PR firm that helped promote SIKcret Time in Manila—congratulated the production for being “the most brand-supported fan meet ever!”
Indeed, there was no shortage of love for Park Hyung-sik in what Janeena aptly referred to as an “extended Valentine’s Day” celebration for all Filipino Sikrets—and we will hold him to his promise of doing more projects to look forward to and, of course, coming back to his most beautiful fans!
