“We offer this to our real-life heroes who prove in their own little ways that there is a hero in all of us, that we can always find Darna in everyone,” she said.

The huge mural, which features people from all walks of life wearing the Darna insignia, was designed by Anina Rubio. The Multidisciplinary visual artist is best known for her artworks on nature’s beauty and sustainability.
Following its theme “Ikaw, ako, tayong lahat si Darna,” the mural paints a picture of a ‘hero’ in every person who manages to bring hope and positivity amid today’s uncertainties and realities.
The mural was commissioned by ABS-CBN in line with the modern-day retelling of Darna’s story, which will highlight the plight of the iconic and courageous Pinay superhero and her heroic battles to help those in need.
The character of Darna was originally created by Filipino comic book cartoonist and graphic novelist Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo. She first appeared in Pilipino Komiks (Ace Publications, Inc.) on May 13, 1950, and has been adapted extensively and portrayed in other forms of media, including films and television series.
For over 70 years, Darna has cemented her place as a Filipino cultural icon in literature and art and the small and big screen. Darna has been adapted in 14 films and three TV shows, with the upcoming series being the fourth series.
Helmed by Chito S. Roño together with Avel Sunpongco under ABS-CBN’s JRB Creative Production, Darna will air on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, and iWantTFC.
