More 'Spider-Man' movies with Tom Holland are coming after 'No Way Home'
We won't be seeing the last of Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
With the much-anticipated film's premiere right around the corner, producer Amy Pascal confirmed that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have three more Spider-Man movies with Holland in store.
"This is not the last move that we are going to make with Marvel—[this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," she told Fandango. "We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."
Considering how Holland talked about No Way Home, there was speculation that it would be his final run as the friendly neighborhood web crawler.
"We're all treating it as the end of a franchise, let's say," he told Entertainment Weekly in November. "I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you'd be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy...But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”
The 25-year-old actor also expressed to GQ his interest in passing on the torch. "Mabe what's best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film. If I'm playing Spider-Man after I'm 30, I've done something wrong," he said.
But lucky for fans of Holland's version of Spidey, No Way Home won't be his last time in the superhero's boots.
Aside from Spider-Man films, Sony has movies with other Marvel characters, including Morbius and Venom.
No Way Home is set to hit theaters worldwide on Dec. 17 but will be delayed until Jan. 8, 2022 in the Philippines. This date push has sparked an online petition, #DontDelayNoWayHomePH, which has 38,373 signatures, as of writing.
