A new trailer for the second season of Squid Game is here.

In a new teaser released by Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 27, Player 456 Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung Jae), who emerged as the winner in the first edition of the games, was seen stepping into a limo and asking the Front Man to put him back on the mysterious survival game with a new mission in mind: to finally put an end to it.

“You still don’t see, do you? The game will not end unless the world changes,” an unidentified character said in a voiceover.

It also showed the famous Red Light, Green Light game, intense fights among the players in the dorm, and players fighting against the armed red guards.

Apart from Gi-hun, other familiar faces returning from Season 1 are detective Hwang Jun-ho (played by Wa Hi Jun), the Salesman (Gong Yoo), and the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun).

The trailer also introduced new players eager to win the cash prize, namely Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun,  Lee David, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, Won Ji-an, veteran actress Kang Ae-sim, and former K-pop idol Choi Seung-hyun.

“Those who created this game...we should fight them,” Gi-hun said in the latter part of the trailer.

Like in the first installment, Hwang Dong Hyuk will serve as the writer, director, and executive producer. He previously made history as the first Asian director to ever win the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series at the 74th Primetime Emmys.

Squid Game follows the story of 456 individuals, who are buried in financial debt, playing a series of thrilling, deadly games to win the jackpot prize of 45.6 billion Korean won (P2 billion).

The first season premiered in October 2021 and has become one of Netflix’s hit series, garnering nods and historic wins in prestigious awards shows like the Emmys in 2022. It also spawned a video game and reality show adaptations.

Squid Game 2 will be available on Netflix on Dec. 26.
