Netflix is creating an IRL Squid Game competition with $4.56M (P420M) cash prize. Here's how Filipinos can join
Don't worry, it won't have deadly consequences like the series.
After the success of the dystopian Korean drama, Netflix is now preparing to release an IRL Squid Game reality competition with 456 players from all over the world battling for $4.56 million.
Dubbed Squid Game: The Challenge, its whopping cash prize will be the largest earnings in reality TV history, while also introducing the most number of contestants in a reality show.
With the fictional series seeing Korean childhood games such as Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and Marbles, the reality competition show has yet to share what the contestants will be facing in the 10-episode special filmed in the United Kingdom.
"Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end," said Netflix's Brandon Riegg in a statement.
The news comes after the streaming site announced a forthcoming second season of their biggest show yet.

Think you've got the chops and luck to win the (almost) real-life Squid Game? You're in luck as Netflix has now opened a casting call for fans "from any part of the world."
To sign up, go to squidgamecasting.com and click on "Global Casting." From there, the streamer will ask for your personal information along with photos and a one-minute video to verify your identity and make sure you're fit to wear the iconic green jumpsuit.
Applicants must also be over 21 years old, have a valid passport, and be free for four weeks of filming in early 2023.
