Britney the author: Britney Spears is writing a fictional book about girl ghosts
After the announcement that she has been released from her decades-long conservatorship, Britney Spears announced that she will be writing a book about a girl who is stuck in the afterlife.
The pop star broke the news via Instagram, where she also shared the synopsis of her forthcoming novel.
“I’m writing a book about a girl who was murdered,” the 39-year-old captioned. “Yet her ghost gets stuck in limbo because of trauma and pain and she doesn’t know how to cross over to the world she used to know."
“After being stuck in limbo for three years, she is a ghost who thrives off of her reflection in her mirror for existence.”
“She has no one she can trust but something happens and she figures out how to cross over to the world where her family is !!!! Coming out of the limbo she has a decision to make … greet the same people who murdered her or create a whole new life.”
She concluded that she will “leave it to the imagination” on what happens to the protagonist.
Her book plans have since elicited positive reactions on social media, with many pointing out the similarities of the lost child to Britney’s own life.
Britney was under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, since 2008. The legal agreement refrains Britney from touching her finances and has since sparked the #FreeBritneyMovement calling for her autonomy.
On Sept. 29, a judge suspended her father’s hold as Britney’s conservator after over 13 years.
