Spooky season plans: Take these creepy walking tours in Intramuros and Manila with your friends this October
Spooky season is upon us, and it's a good a time as any to get in on the thrills—so why not do it with some local flavor?
Experiental tour company WanderManila is bringing back its in-person walking tours with a twist. After introducing their Halloween-themed One Night in Intramuros tour back in 2019, they're now venturing beyond the Walled City to give more Filipinos a fright.
This Halloween 2022, WanderManila is introducing 'The Longest Night, a month of Dark Tales and Historical Frights.' Departing from their usual one-night escapade in Intramuros, they will now be offering a month-long adventure into the Metro's hottest spots to get your spook on.
Three nights in Intramuros
Instead of the lone night, the One Night in Intramuros tour will now happen on October 8, 9, and 22.
Serving as one of the country's oldest districts where the Spanish government ruled amid its 333-year colonialization, the Walled City holds a rich history that not many Filipinos might know. The three nights will see an interactive exploration of the country's history, along with a few possible spooky stories along the way.
"What better way to celebrate the Halloween season than to take the most sought-after dark history Manila tour out there? Join us as we explore Intramuros in a darker light," WanderManila shared on social media.
Tickets are priced at P800 / head. You can reserve a slot here.
Special students tour
On Oct. 23, a very special Intramuros tour will be exclusively given to Intramuros students for the discounted price of P200, a far cry from its usual P800 price tag.
Students only need to present their student ID and register for the event here.
Halloween night special tour
Finally, if you're raring for the maximum Halloween experience, WanderManila is introducing it's newest tour: One Night in Ermita.
The new tour will explore the historical corridor of Ermita, also known as Barangay 666. The controversial barangay has been the origin of many local horror stories, along with some good 'ol historical settings that have seen brutal and violent chapters of the country’s history. Suffice to say, this is best experienced with friends.
"This time, we will go beyond the Walls of Intramuros to explore Ermita's Historical Corridor. New places to explore, new stories to hear, new horrors to revisit," WanderManila wrote regarding the new tour.
The one-night-only Manila tour is exclusive for Halloween night, with tickets going for P1,000 / head. You can register here.
Meanwhile, for those that want to get spooked in the confines of their home, WanderManila will be continuing their One Night in Manila virtual tour to be held on October 30, 2022, at 8:00 PM on the WanderManila Facebook page.
