‘The Boys’ animated spin-off ‘Diabolical’ voice cast and trailer revealed
The third season of Amazon Studio’s gritty satirical superhero series The Boys won’t debut on Prime Video until June, but the new adult animated anthology spin-off is set to arrive next month.
A new teaser for The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which premieres in March, is framed as an in-universe ad for the fast-food chain Vought-A-Burger, one of the many subsidiaries of Vought International, the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that founded The Seven and manages the global population of licensed Supes.
The wacky trailer retains the raunchy jokes and over-the-top gore of the live-action series in animated format, with the fictitious All-American fast-food joint Vought-A-Burger (portrayed with a familiar red and yellow color scheme), in line with the show’s irreverent tone.

The teaser trailer showcases a blend of different animation styles that will appear in various episdoes, similar to modern animated anthologies like Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots and Star Wars: Visions.
The series comes from animation studio Titmouse Inc., which also animated shows like Megas XLR, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and The Legend of Vox Machina.
The Boys stars Anthony Starr and Giancarlo Esposito will reprise their roles as Homelander and Vought International CEO Stan Edgar, but they will also be joined by some familiar names in the entertainment industry,
The teaser introduces an impressive voice cast including Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Kieran Culkin, Eliot Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Roiland, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Christian Slater, Kevin Smith, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Aisha Tyler, and Youn Yuh Jung.
More voice actors involved will be revealed at a later date.
Each episode of The Boys: Diabolical will be approximately 12 to 14 minutes long and will have its own animation style while exploring previously unseen stories within The Boys’ universe.
Garth Ennis, the co-creator of the comic book series which the show is based on, is slated to write one of the shorts. He will be joined by The Boys executive producer Seth Rogen and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg. In addition to lending their voices to the series, Tyler, Glazer, and Awkwafina have also written Diabolical episodes as well.

There are easily recognizable characters including Homelander, Black Noir, the Deep, along with new faces, such as Laser Baby and Picante Balls, a hero with super genitalia, among others, which signals how crazy things will get in the animated spinoff.
All episodes of The Boys Presents: Diabolical will drop on Prime Video on March 4 while the third season of The Boys is set to arrive on June 3, 2022.
New heroes added for the third season of The Boys include Nick Wechsler's Blue Hawk, Miles Gaston Villanueva's Supersonic, Laure Holden's Crimson Countess, Sean Patrick Flanery's Gunpowder, and Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy. According to showrunner Erick Kirpke, the upcoming season will use the new heroes to explore the mysterious history of Vought International.
