WATCH: Harrison Ford, Ke Huy Quan share touching 'Indiana Jones' moment at 2023 Oscars

Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford reunited and hugged each other at the 2023 Academy Awards stage on Monday, March 13 (Philippine time)—the way they did about four decades ago in the 1984 adventure film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Quan, then 12, remarkably played the kid sidekick Short Round of the titular heroic archaeologist portrayed by Ford, then 42, in the second installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Ford, now 80, presented this year's Best Picture nominees, including Everything Everywhere All at Once which starred 51-year-old Quan. The absurdist multiverse movie won the night's highly coveted award.

Their touching moment made netizens remember their Temple of Doom hugging scene, which they were able to somehow recreate after Quan accepted the Oscars trophy on behalf of the Everything Everywhere All at Once cast members who also went on stage. He can also be seen kissing Ford's cheek.

Aside from Best Picture, Everything Everywhere All at Once won other major categories, including Best director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing. It also swept across the three acting categories it was nominated in: Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress, while Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis won Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.
