Team Philippines is ready to go all out for the gold!

The Filipino athletes who made it to the 2024 Paris Olympics have been officially introduced at the event’s opening ceremony that took place on July 27 (Philippine time).

For the first time, the parade of athletes was held on the famous Seine River with boats for each national delegation. For the Philippines, the representatives showed just how excited they are to represent the country as they cheerfully waved their flags at the crowd.

As the designated flagbearers, boxers Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam were spotted at the front of the boat proudly holding the Philippine flag.

The athletes graced the parade in style as they wore "Sinag" barong Tagalog uniforms created by renowned designer Francis Libiran. The traditional Filipino garment, which is made from piña-jusi fabric, features a detachable silk organdy sling with embroidered sun rays and Pintados-inspired warrior patterns.

Prior to the ceremony, the team was seen bonding with each other as they took selfies and group photos in Paris. Despite the gloomy weather, their smiles never wavered as they pressed on with their preparations.
