First sip of red wine, vacation, and swimsuit: Britney Spears' many firsts since the conservatorship was terminated
Britney Spears is celebrating her big and small wins and many firsts after her conservatorship.
For nearly 14 years, Spears had been in a conservatorship under her father Jamie, which legally allowed him and many others to control her life and estate. For more than a decade the performer was not allowed to drive her own car, go anywhere without permission, spend her own money, meet friends, and hire her own legal team among others.
But now that the conservatorship has been terminated, thanks to her fans and supporters, Spears is a free woman—literally.
"Free woman energy has never felt better," she posted sharing a nude photo, covering her private part and boobs with emojis.

First time to keep cash
Yes, even the most basic necessity was taken away from her. After 13 years, Spears is able to withdraw from the ATM and spend her money on anything that she wants including chocolate, Christmas socks, and a bottle of white wine.
“I am able to have cash now so I went to an ATM and was so proud of my $300 and I am not embarrassed to share this . . . well maybe a little," she said in a now-deleted post.
She also added that she is more embarrased for her family "for condoning the fact that I wasn’t allowed to have cash for so long when I worked my little ass off for them," and for the state of California for condoning her father's actions.
"I am embarrassed for all of them and am sad for them because I know my value and worth now and they lost me," she added.
"It was great. I felt so independent when I came home," she said of the small win.
Her first iPad
Spears didn't get an iPad until 2021. The singer posted a video to her Instagram account announcing the purchase, and she thinks its a game-changer.
"OK, guys, great news," Spears said. "I got my first iPad today. I came into the kitchen, I saw something that I ordered, and it is a freakin' new iPad. I am so excited, my kids have owned one, I've never owned one, this is just a groundbreaking day." She said she's always had a "little phone," but with the iPad, it feels "like my life is changing as we speak, I am so excited."
First time in 13 years to drive her own car
"I started experiencing that when I got the keys to my car for the first time 4 months ago and it’s been 13 years !!!!"
"I’m celebrating Christmas way early this year … because why not ???!!! I believe any reason to find more joy in life is a good idea … and it’s no secret that I’ve been through it in the past … so I might have to do things a little differently from now on !!!"
First high-waisted swimsuit
Looks like Spears is enjoying online shopping because she got a new swimsuit!
"This is my first high waisted bathing suit ? ever …my fiancé likes it but I’m not sure ? .... It’s crazy cool cause you can adjust it high or low," she wrote.
First glass of champagne
Days after her conservatorship was terminated, the Pop Princess shared about the wonderful weekend she just had. To celebrate her freedom and her upcoming birthday, she had her first glass of champagne.
"I mean after 13 years … I think I’ve waited long ENOUGH !!!!" she exclaimed.
First time to use a "real photography camera"
Spears shared a topless photo of herself in yellow panties saying it's her first to to use a real photography camera. "It's the yellow thong and Minnie Mouse on the bed for me," she wrote.
Her first taste of red wine
The queen had her first glass of red wine, and we're toasting to that!
Addressing her haters who comment about her actions, Spears shared that she's not sorry for "indulging in front of the masses," adding that she learned to "be selfish and love thyself" from her family.
"I had my first glass of red wine last weekend !!! I’ve waited 13 years … that’s long enough !!!" she said.
She added: "The sarcasm of me me me … my family taught me well by their actions … to be selfish and love thyself … play on!!! In a world where we all have the right to speak … drive … buy alcohol … party … have cash … I apologize for INDULGING in front of the masses … and dancing a touch slower !!! I mean what was I thinking?? Nobody’s perfect !!!"
Her first time at a restaurant
On Jan. 6, the Baby One More Time singer recounted her wonderful dinner at a restaurant in LA, and you could tell she had a great time.
Spears talked about her outfit, the place, the view, the menu, and the food.
"I cried over food in this beautiful restaurant ... I couldn't believe what I was experiencing with this food," she wrote. "I will say it was one of the most magical experiences of my life and I will never forget it," she added.
