Liza Soberano reveals she’s moving to Los Angeles to pursue Hollywood career
Liza Soberano is taking a giant leap for her career.
In a chat recently shared by Fil-Am beauty YouTuber Patrick Starrr, the actress revealed that she has decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of building a career in the United States.
“That’s just because it’s a lot easier to build my career if I’m here because they’re always constantly looking for in-person meetings. It’s just hard to book jobs if you’re meeting people over Zoom. They can’t really tell what your personality is like or they can’t really see what you actually look like,” she said.
Aside from becoming a “world-class actress,” Liza shared her hopes of creating her own path in the music industry under Careless Music—a management label led by James Reid. “I’ve been training a lot here. I’ve been taking vocal lessons, acting,” she said, adding that she’s looking to release music that would resemble K-pop, “but a little edgier.”
When asked about the things she likes about LA, Liza pointed out the weather as well as the work culture in the area. “On a superficial level, I really like the weather. I actually like just the culture of just working hard and grinding to be successful,” she explained. She expressed her awe at how everyone there is open to collaborations and simply “trying new things out with other people.”
Liza’s ultimate goal with this big move is to become her own person. “For so many years, I was in a love team and that’s what I was mainly known for, or like, I was attached to so many different brands. I never was able to build up my own personal branding,” she said.
“I feel like this year and the next few years is all about figuring out what I really want to do with my career and personally finding out what excites me, what fuels my passion,” she continued.
In August 2022, the Filipina star announced her first Hollywood movie project Lisa Frankenstein. Written by Diablo Cody, the American horror-comedy-romance film stars Newton and Cole Sprouse. Soberano plays the role of Taffy, the step-sister of Lisa.
