WATCH: Pauline Amelinckx highlights self-love in introduction video for Miss Supranational 2023

Pauline Amelinckx put forward the importance of self-love in her introduction video for the Miss Supranational 2023 tilt. 

In a video shared on Saturday, June 17, the beauty queen gave a quick tour of her hometown Bohol as she got real about her experiences with body shaming. “We all face different storms in life. What I struggled with the most is being body shamed. Sometimes, we’re told we’re not worthy because of how we look or how we don’t fit a certain mold,” she said. "But I now realize, it was never about changing other people's opinions about us, but changing the voice in our own head to make it the kindest and most understanding."

"With self-love, we allow ourselves to be imperfect, to break the mold, be vulnerable, and grow. Our stories—mine and yours—have the power to inspire across borders," she added.

After introducing herself as Miss Supranational Philippines 2023, she encouraged everyone to help each other out in bringing the best version of themselves. "As I bring our stories to the Miss Supranational stage, let's come together to lift each other up—from one nation to another."

Pauline was named the country’s representative to the Miss Supranational pageant in a separate awarding ceremony that took place after the MUPh coronation night on Saturday, May 13. She will vie for the country's second crown from the international competition on July 13 in Poland.
