Bullet Jalosjos has addressed the rumors of his alleged affair with Dominic Roque, clarifying that they are merely longtime good friends.

The Dapitan mayor, alongside Quezon City 4th District Congressman Bong Suntay, broke their silence in a sit-down vlog with Jay Ruiz.

Jalosjos shared that Dominic has been included in their group of friends called Euro Monkeys for 10 years now.

“Nag-umpisa ‘yan sa pagmo-motor, nagka-karera kami sa Clark. And then, from there, naging good, good friends kami,” he said, adding that besides motorcycle riding, they also help each other in their respective businesses.

“Kaya nagkakapagtaka na umabot sa ganito, na even ang genders namin ang pinagkakaguluhan na ngayon ng marami at nangtatanong kung talagang lalaki ba talaga kami. Nakakatawa lang ‘yung issue. Actually, pinagtatawanan lang nga namin eh,” he said.

Jalosjos went on to clarify the condo issue, as well as his alleged romantic involvement with Roque.

“Actually ‘yung condo totoong akin talaga ‘yon,” he began. “Ginawa ko siyang airbnb, but because of the pandemic, pinagbawalan kami i-open for airbnb. Syempre, as a friend, barkada, si Dom, asked me if I want to have it rented,” he said. In the latter part of the vlog, he shared their agreement is that Roque will only pay 50% of the rent, provided that he will be the one to fix and maintain the unit. Roque has been renting the place for three years now.

“Natawa na nga lang ako bakit tumalon ‘yung issue sa business na binahay na.” he added.

Despite finding the accusations hilarious, the politician called out “so-called journalists” behind spreading the rumors.

“Sana naman itong mga nagkakalat, that are claiming they are mga batikang journalist, sana naman ingat ingat rin. They have responsibility to the people dapat fact-finding,” he said.

“Hindi ‘yung nalaman nila nasa pangalan ko ‘yung condo sugar daddy na ko bigla,” he stressed.

“Ang problema doon sinakyan, ginagaslight nila ‘yung issue e.”

Jalosjos also pointed out how the issue has been hard for Roque, especially after his split with ex-fiancée Bea Alonzo.

“Naawa rin kami kay Dom. Affected na nga ‘yung tao sa breakup ili-link pa kami sa kaniya. Kami pinagtatawanan lang talaga namin pero at some point kailangan talagang tumigil and I think these people have to also be reprimanded,” he mused.

“Kailangan may consequences din ‘yun, may batas tayo,” he urged.

For his part, Congressman Suntay, who is also being linked to Roque for allegedly giving him a Cleanfuel gasoline station, clarified that he was just a brand ambassador.

“Kung talagang magreresearch lang makikita nila as early as five years ago talagang brand ambassador na si Dominic. Ang nakakagulat nga ‘yung pinost pa nilang picture ‘yung contract signing namin ni Dom,” he said.

In a statement on Feb. 20, the gas company said it “strongly condemns” the false accusations and misleading reports involving Roque.

“Being a company-owned entity, Cleanfuel does not provide nor extend franchise to anyone as claimed by some,” it said, noting how Roque has “worked and represented the brand professionally for the past six years.”

Roque’s legal counsel, Fernandez & Singson Law, also shared a statement condemning Cristy Fermin's statements against him, which claimed that the actor's condo was owned by a male politician.

"We strongly condemn the malicious and defamatory public statements of Ms. Fermin. These defamatory statements were made by Ms. Fermin under the guise of entertainment news without any effort from her to confirm the same from Mr. Dominic Roque," it read.

"These innuendoes alluded that Mr. Dominic Roque has a benefactor who is a politician and that this politician is the owner of the condominium unit where he currently resides. The messaging of the innuendos were clear and unambiguous," it added.

Alonzo and Roque’s split was first confirmed by TV host Boy Abunda on Feb. 6, less than a week after, the two announced their breakup, saying “It was not an easy decision.”

Alonzo and Roque first sparked dating speculations in 2019. The actress announced her engagement on July 19 last year through a series of Instagram pictures showing Roque on one knee while she was in tears.
