Sophie Turner drops child abduction lawsuit against estranged husband Joe Jonas

Actress Sophie Turner has decided to drop the "wrongful retention" charges against her ex-husband Joe Jonas amid their custody battle.

In a report by Entertainment Tonight, Turner requested that the lawsuit—which claims Jonas allegedly kept the passports of her daughters, Delphine, 18 months, and Willa, 3—be dismissed. This is in light of a new parenting plan the former couple has agreed upon.

At that time, the actress claimed that Jonas forbade their kids to return to their "habitual residence" in England, a place they both previously agreed would be their "forever home."

"The Father has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother," the records said.

After the lawsuit was filed, Turner and Jonas reached a temporary agreement to keep their kids in New York City as they went through a divorce.

Turner and Jonas' tumultuous legal battle started in September last year when the pair announced in a joint statement that they have "mutually decided to amicably end" their marriage "after four wonderful years."

Sophie is now being linked to British aristocrat Peregrine "Perry" Pearson, having been photographed holding hands and sharing a kiss last year. Jonas has meanwhile sparked dating rumors with model Stormi Bree after they were spotted boarding a private jet together.

The former couple got engaged in 2017 after being together for a year. They had two wedding ceremonies in 2019—one in Las Vegas in May and another wedding in France in June.
