Ellen Adarna claps back at online user looking for John Lloyd Cruz at son's moving up
Ellen Adarna clapped back at a social media user who pointed out John Lloyd Cruz’s absence at their son Elias’ moving up ceremony.
The actress-entrepreneur recently shared a family photo of her, Elias, and her husband Derek Ramsay at the school event.
“The only decent moving up photo,” she wrote in the caption.
However, one social media user caught her attention after pointing out that John Lloyd, Elias’ biological father, should have been in the event too.
“JL (John Lloyd) should be present,” an Instagram user wrote.
Ellen did not mince her words in her reply to the comment as she said, “You should mind your own business.”
“[J]ust because he's not in the photo [doesn’t] mean he was not there. 'Wag masyadong close minded manang. Present father naman [siya] meaning present din [siya] sa lahat ng milestones ng anak nya,” she said.
Ellen and John Lloyd welcomed Elias in 2018. Since their split in 2019, the two have started new relationships and are in a co-parenting set-up.
In July 2023, Ellen shared during her Q&A on her Instagram story that John Lloyd has been providing financial support for their child even after their split, adding that the latter even “insisted on doubling it.”
John Lloyd also opened up in 2023 about his fatherhood journey, sharing how Elias positively impacted his life.
“Ang dami niyang (Elias) binigay na bago, bagong kahulugan, bagong duties, all of a sudden iba na 'yung tingin mo sa lahat,” he said, adding, "Niligtas niya 'yung buhay ko.”
He also shared at the time that while co-parenting is “a bit of a challenge,” he feels lucky to have such a harmonious relationship with Ellen and Derek in taking care of their son.
"Napakaswerte ko at ako ay nagpapasalamat kay Ellen, kay Derek dahil iniisip nila 'yung kapakanan ng bata," he said.
Ellen married Derek in November 2022, while John Lloyd confirmed his romantic relationship with artist Isabel Santos in October 2023.
